My Bright Balloon

For an Older Child

There's a big balloon on a long, white string, And it's tied to my little boy (girl). It reminds me of all the joy he (she) brings As he pulls it like a toy. (As the two begin to swirl.)

When he (she) jumps into my arms each day And I swing him (her) 'round and say, "You're my pride and joy, filling my heart's room," And I'm tied to My Bright Balloon.

Oh, it's then that my child tugs my heart-strings And ties my heart like a balloon. Tis God who made his (her) laughter ring; Tis God who made our hearts to sing At the sight and the sound that my child brings.

Thank God for My Bright Balloon!
